Yes- we have had to make some very expensive payments lately to stay out of a global depression... but these chickens would have come home to roost regardless of what party was in office.
Yes the cap and trade issue is scary. But if we do nothing about the environment (Speaking of our 'CHILDREN' ), then those chickens will come home later.
STOP and THINK. If the answers to our country's problems were easy there would be no controversy.
Both parties have plenty of good and plenty of 'evil' to go around.
These issues are complicated. Don't panic--people don't make good decisions when they panic. Be cool.

It will do no good to only enforce strict regulations and penalties in the US while the rest of the world claims "exemption". That would be a sure fire way to crater us compared to other countries. You think outsourcing is bad now..just wait til after cap & trade.

Nope .. no panic.

There isn't anything going on here that can't be undone by the next, much more realistic, administration.

All of this business of insurance reform, cap and trade, and so on, will go away.

We had the neocons, and now we have the liberals ... we'll get through the both of them, realizing that we aren't the nation they somehow seem to imagine we are, and by force of economic justice, these pie in the sky programs, rules, policies and laws will be repealed.

Even the neocons and the liberals will agree, that this country is more important than their silly little powertripping/grabbing games are.

Well both parties are full of liars and screw ups. However, if you are really asking for an answer to your question...

The "evil Dems" have a great reason to destroy the country. Dems, become stronger the worse things get in the country, because there are more people looking for handouts. And while the "evil Repubs" have lately been unable to cry innocence, the dems are more likely to be the handout party. Steal from the rich and give to the poor. So many Americans fall for the "governement should be in the business of helping us" line, and unfortunately don't understand that the government doesn't pay for a damn thing...we do. Well, those of us who earn. Those who are poor, lazy...whatever, are the ones asking for the handouts, and as long as things stay crappy, economically and otherwise, the dems will breed new converts every day.

We are in a very touchy transition period. Could go either way. Either enough people will wake up before that happens and the pendulum will swing in the other direction, or the policies will add to the every growing unemployment rate, more people will be losing their homes, and the pool of people crying for their government to do something will grow, and grow and grow, until we find ourselves smack dab in the middle of a European type socialist country. You know, the kind that has been experiencing this kind of horrible unemployment rate for years and years, and have basically become used to it.

The real question is why those of us with brains would allow it?

Who is John Gault?

The reason, well first off maybe money. Maybe they are lining their pockets. I mean come on AL Gore, his nice little green plans he has made millions off this great little plan, and he lives very very meagerly!! And boy he follows what he preaches, drives a nice jet all over. Come on wake the f up!! We being used as pawns and tax payers for their little friends and schemes.

Is it time to panic? Who would notice? The whacko fringe has been in a permanent state of panic for decades. Irrationality rules on the right...
