Dubya and his band of dimwits were the worst administration in history. They neglected the economy for 8 years, don't you understand that? What in the world is wrong with you regressives, that you can't acknowledge the plain fact that Bush stunk? The effects of his stench don't end just because Obama is sworn in.

Of course pointing out the obvious to a Regressive is a useless as a blind man turning around to look.

Consumption and investment by state and local governments are a part of GDP, so we have been talking about them since GDP was first mentioned which was right before you chimed in as if you knew what you were talking about.

Can we talk apples and oranges ?

An economy takes years to damage. Bush had 8... a terrorist attack takes a couple months to plan. A government that receives repeated warnings about an attack and does nothing, culpable!

This is a poor comparison. In the attack on liberals one must at least use reasonable comparisons, or should I play by the same rule and say oh well that's just the way cons do it, nonsense from beginning to end? Broadbrush stokes do nothing to make one think and evaluate the situations.

I still am not surre why anyone defends one approach over the other so ardently when one would think we should be striving for what's best for the country, economy, nation and world. Neither side of this 2 party system is without faults. Face it we elect people that have low moral standards and expect honesty, and integrity.

While I am all for separation of church and state I do think we need some standards of human behavior set by the politicians. They need to be truthful and righteous at a minimum. Why is it we accept less than this? When we set our standards so low it isn't hard for some low life to meet them. Why not have higher expectations and requirements for office? Why not hold those that don't measure up accountable, throw the liars and cheats in jail. When they do back office deals that enhance their bank accounts and off shore accounts, confiscate and jail. If we have any politicians with an offshore account we have reaason to be concerned.

We as Americans see the failing of our system and in reality have no one to blame but ourselves. If we don't expect the best teachers, if we don't show the young by example how are we to have a system that has respect for others? Why are you surprised people are killed for the latest pair of $200 tennis shoes? People want to do nothing more than point fingers to one party or the other.... I have news for you they have both laid the road towards disaster! Second news flash, its OUR fault we sit by doing nothing and allow them to bastardize our system for their own gain.

Here are some suggestions,
eliminate PAC's and their contributions
limit terms
set caps on election spending and i'm not talking about over $10M
provide debates on C-Span, not commercial TV... CSpan might as well have some purpose.
Set standards of expected behaviors and provide and easy out should they not meet that standard, If you lie and cheat you lose your position! then you go to jail.
Do not allow the Representatives and Senators to modify bills. The vote is for what was proposed, no padding with pork barrel projects.... btw a pork barrel project would not meet rules of behavior and would be grounds for immediate dismissal.
Do not require one religious belief to be the standard but humans values, truth, love, righteousness these are the principles that need to be implanted in people.
Set standards high.
Pay politicians well so they can afford to live at a standard appropriate for their role
Stop allowing corporate America to dictate our policies... Do you really want a war so Dick Cheney can exercise his stock options?
Pay for performance
Set a standard that becomes the example. Let that trickle down through the society. Trickle down works with values, not economies.

Instill a work ethic. That not only refers to a move to work diligently, but with values.

Stop accepting inferior performance

Get active, Stop complaining and doing nothing. Set standards at local levels, school boards, various commissions, and lets work our way to the top. We need human values education as a mandatory part of our educational system as our values are lacking as a whole.

Most libs don't blame Bush for 9-11, most blame him for Iraq, and the feeble attempts to tie it to 9-11, and the failure to bring in those responsible for 9-11 as promised.
