Socialism is defined as collective ownership. American socialism began in 1935, with the enactment of FICA / Social Security. There is no law compelling participation, nor punishing those who do not. Yet millions of Americans BELIEVE that there is a law that requires them to get their number before they can work in their own country.

Now that is one BIG LIE that fooled millions.

Don't believe me - write to the Congress or to the administrator's office in Baltimore, MD, and ask them.

If it's 100% voluntary - voluntary servitude - we did it to ourselves - - -
D'Oh!

So, if I am enrolled into a group insurance plan where I work, that is socialism too, because I'm paying in, and my company's group plan which is being provided by their graciousness and generousity.

And, I'm also paying into the Medicare system and Social Security, for which I may ever use if I die.

Socialized health and retirement benefit defined, thank you very much.

My 401K tanked, I'll receive little if nothing when I retire.

I feel so well endowed now. I'll be in need of both should I last till I reach age 62.

Socialism hasn't started. If you haven't been to a socialist country, you can't say we are socialist. People throwing that word around have no idea what it means. We are no where near socialism.

Just think where you would be if Social Security had been privatized

Capitalism didn't work before Obama, banks and the like were bailed out (corporate welfare) I'm ready to give "socialism" a chance.
