The OP link just goes to someone's blog. There doesnt appear to be anyone named Jeremy Kimball working at the LAT.
And wouldnt a quote like the one attributed to Emanuel have made a few actual newspapers?
I mean correct me if Im wrong, I like a nice messy sordid story as well as anyone else.
All the hits are from blogs. There seems to be no LAT story.
Remember that Biden is on the same page as Hillary when it comes to the foreign policy divide, and so is Rahm Emanuel. Obama wouldn't fire her.
It's common for secretaries of state to be replaced after a president's first term, e.g. Warren Christopher/Madeline Albright, or Colin Powell/Condi Rice, or Alexander Haig/George Shultz, or William Rogers/Henry Kissinger. The last Sec of State to last through both terms of a president's administration was Dean Rusk.
Contrary to what people think here, a challenge to Obama if it happens won't come from the centrist wing of the party. Too many of them are in the Administration already. It will come from the left, the group within the party most disappointed in Obama and who feel like they've got nothing for their support.
Heh, good point about Obama not being able to fire her. She could turn out to be the most incompetent SoS we've ever had, and Obama still wouldn't be able to fire her. Hitlery could take a dump in the middle of the Oval Office, and Rahm Emanuel himself would have to clean it up and thank her.
Hillary Clinton is not what so many *******s think she is. For one, she rode her husband's coattails to carpetbag her way into NY (my home state), and then turned out to be one of the worst senators that state has ever had. So, any notion of Hillary being a feminist is completely lost one me (no real accomplishments in life, other than being on the corporate board at Wal Mart (due to her "working" for the Rose Law Firm), and a JD degree from Yale which may be dubious at best considering the time frame in which she got it (amongst other issues). The woman did nothing, and I mean nothing, for NY. We all know why she ran for the senate, but, whatever. Hillary Clinton is a fascist. I really don't think she could have won, last year, she's that polarizing.
Look at a few of the bozos the democrats have put up there for president-Gore, Kerry, and H. Clinton (then Obama once he got his momentum). As Rev. Wright is so wont to say, "The chickens have come home to roost". Well, they sure have in the case of Obama and Clinton. As a rock ribbed conservative/libertarian, even I was impressed with Obama and his skillful campaign, although I knew all along the guy was a socialist and an America hater, which is apparent in light of recent events, and we're only 6 months into his presidency. His presidency is falling apart, already.
Lemme tell ya, as much as I despise Hillary Clinton, I wonder what would happen if Obama&Co. fired her. It may cause a firestorm in Washington, which could have a ripple effect politically across the country, one reason being the Clintons still wield a lot of power. In a way, I always hope the Clintons would simply recuse themselves to the dustbin of history, along with Carville and the rest, but in this case it may be too soon. I still think her megomanical arse would still try and run against Obama in 2012, either way (kinda like what Teddy "Chappaquidick" Kennedy did in 1980.
