I feel like I am being squeezed into a mold forced upon me by those who believe in fairy tales — all for the sake of consumption. I find myself herded into a corner and prodded with names like negative Scrooge because I dare reject the manipulation of ancient stories in the name of profit.

Feeling grinchy because Santa did not bestow you with any gifts this year?

these weirdos on here seriously need to stop smoking dope and then making crazy posts.
What's not to like about a season of artificial obligation to give things to people who don't need or want them reinforced by the advertising of merchants for five months and the unnecessary consumption of mass quantities?
Oh, yeah - there was something about a Jewish kid in there, too.

As a Christian, I view it as a universally recognized day to honor the birth of Jesus Christ. I'm not overly concerned about any former pagan connotations of the specific date that we celebrate it on. I think there are too many scrooges and grinches out there that just want the name of Christ to be silent and fortunately, you are still in the minority.

That is why I view christmas as american winter solstice. I understand that christians think it is their holiday, and I really don't get too upset about merry christmas vs happy holiday, etc. I don't even mind jesus is the reason for the season.
But I don't feel bad about celebrating it in a non christian way, because the war on christmas started with a war on paganism.
I enjoy having a tree in my living room. I couldn't care less about the other things that I'm supposed to participate in this week.
