Go and try to find an American made toaster oven..just try.
There are some consumer products that have NO American made counterpart out there; you are stuck with the "Made in xxxx".
I buy American whenever I can and it's very hard to do so.
"Assembled in America" does not mean "Made in America".
Most consumer products now have very little American content. Most actually hit a few different continents during the manufacturing process, if you include raw materials.
Don't be too sure. This company, like everybody else, has plants in Mexico or other Low cost countries.
Even if the final packaging takes place in North Carolina that does not mean anything.
To offset these adverse currency movements, we are implementing a number of programs, the most important of which is the phase out of production of current products at the facility in Irvine, Scotland, which will also then change the product mix at our Craigavon, Northern Ireland facility and increase production at our Berea, Kentucky and Sulligent, Alabama plants in the U.S. and at our Mexican facility.

I note that you found a Mexican plant for Hamilton Beach..
The toaster is made by Proctor Silex
While they are owned by the same company, these two companies are 2 different corporations, so this is like using a Pepsi plant as evidence as to what Coke is doing.
p.s. I gave you the ACTUAL address of where they are made, simply looking for a reason to argue?

Nice try, pg, but that is a whiff. Research a bit further and you will find that Hamilton Beach and Proctor Silex merged in 1990. They maintain separate brand identities but share the same corporate physical and logistical structure.
You can say you know the ACTUAL address where they are made, I am trying obviously with little success to explain to you that that means nothing today. Materials and components are purchased globally, wherever they can be found the cheapest and where it makes the most sense to leverage volume and take advantage of manufacturing sites and markets.
Your toaster can have North Carolina as its final point prior to going retail, perhaps it is finally assembled there, but this does not mean it is "made" in America. I gurantee you that all materials and parts in that toaster are not American.
