I'm OK with this decision, as I'm a fiscal conservative. If you run up debt (even for very good reasons) it has to be paid, simple as that. It's a nice thought, 'debt forgiveness,' and of course people impacted would want that, I mean who wouldn't if they held educational loan debt. It wouldn't infuriate me if there was debt forgiveness, but I'm not really a fan of it.

But ultimately, paid back it must be, and that's what was agreed upon by each individual who took out one or more loans.

a lot of the problem also is that people took out loans for college, started college, didn't finish, then oops you still have to pay back that loan.

These people should be mad at Biden not the S.C. When Democrats had a SUPER MAJORITY with Obama they could have passed it but did nothing. Biden lied and these people believed him and they are supposed to know Civics 101 and they don't and expect the rest of us to pay their college loans. Hell No!

Of course. Refinance the house and close the loan. Instead of buying a big house, buy a smaller one. Instead of buying a 40k-50k car, buy a lesser car. Instead of eating out all the time, eat at home more. Instead of buying everything you like buy less. Instead of going to expensive vacations, take less and cheaper. Life is about priorities.

Most of the people with degrees will earn more than people without. So right there they have an advantage over people with no degrees money wise.

The crazier thing about all this is that salaries are at an all time high, jobs are going unfilled so there are opportunities to take on 2nd jobs, but the thing is no one wants to do that. So it's hard not to think that these people who don't want to pay back the loans are just entitled and lazy. It used to be common for people to have two jobs, but that's very rare these days....even if someone needs a 2nd job they don't bother to get one.

The left keeps claiming we are not in a recession and the economy is booming. If true, borrowers should have no problem making their payments. Both can't be true at the same time. If anything, students should sue the university for overcharging them and demand a partial refund. The schools got the money. THAT is where any relief should come.

There is no such things as debt forgiveness... The government has no money of it's own, this is simply a move to socialize the burden to all of us and it simply is unjustified to burden people with debts they did not assume.

It's a fantastic day for a lesson in financial accountability

The budget is supposed to be a family issue through consensus. This is congress. So now Grandpa snuck off with the credit cards and tried to make the grandkids love him. He got caught and was to,d he can't spend money that isn't legally his to spend. If we let this one go why have a congress at all? Do we want the president to have that much power?
