To be clear, the court has struck down the Biden administration debt-forgiveness program.

On the merits of the plan, the Biden administration had relied on the HEROES Act, a post-9/11 law that allows the Secretary of Education to "waive or modify any statutory or regulatory provision applicable to the student financial assistance programs . . . as the Secretary deems necessary in connection with a war or other military operation or national emergency."

The court today said that the Biden administration could not rely on the HEROES Act for its student-loan forgiveness plan. "The authority to 'modify' statutes and regulations allows the Secretary to make modest adjustments and additions to existing regulations," Roberts wrote, "not transform them."

Or Cancel them - as TeamBiden attempted to do for Votes.

Two sound decisions. Folks will have to pay back what they voluntarily agreed to borrow. Imagine the "horror"

Any other decision would mean some people got a college education for free.

How long until Brandon holds a press conference and spouts "The Supreme Court stopped me from buying your vote!"
