Excellent interview with Michael Kofman (Director, Russia Studies at CNA. Senior Adjunct Fellow, CNAS. I follow Russian military capabilities, operations & strategy) on current situation.

It’s unclear to me why these Russian fans are harping on a bridge attack by Ukraine, when all the Russian military does has been attacking civilian targets, and then a rain of cruise missiles today on more civilian targets just to teach Ukraine a lesson.

From what we thought of the Russian military, they should have been picking off Ukrainian military targets one by one, blasting tank and mobile hardware and achieving air superiority.

Now they’ll prolly do another one of these cruise missile attacks soon and the Russian fanboys will come on here and say Ukraine is losing.

It seems to be domestic political consumption. Or maybe its just Putin throwing a temper tantrum. We know he is becoming Hitleresque in managing day to day operations.

The USA has nothing to gain by fomenting conflict with Russia. We can buy whatever we need in an open market, we don't have to steal it. The aggression has been coming entirely from Putin.

I suspect all the sabre rattling and demonizing has been Putin's way of garnering support within Russia among the addled, so he has to make 'the west' his big bad enemy. Then the people will support him as he screws them over.

You are just spewing Glavset talking points. If NATO didn't exist, Putin would have to invent it.

Yeah right, the USA is trying to control the world's resources. That is why we are striking deals with Russia in order to invade and annex smaller countries. Oh wait a minute, I am sorry, we are not striking deals with Russia and that is the real problem for Moscow.

Russia and her allies? What allies? Belarus? Come on.

For the bridge allegedly not being a military target and doing laughable damage per some....it sure made Russia have to fire off a mound of missiles.

Seems like those two things don't equate. Hmm.
