If they DO support a Ukrainian victory but Russia prevails, there may be severe payback come February. So there is some nail-biting going on in Europe.

All this talk about "Nazis" and "corrupt Ukraine" is either uninformed hogwash or a lame attempt at propaganda. This war is about who will supply Europe with oil.
Russia knows their declining population forces them to make this move now or lose the chance forever. It's do or die for Russia. If they lose, Ukraine will turn off the Russian gas flow to Europe and provide their own, newly discovered gas.
Nordstream, from Russia to Germany under the sea, would remain a waste and would never be used.
Ukraine cannot supply Europe with oil, what are you talking about? If Ukraine loses, we go about our day, nothing changes. As an American, we have no national security interests in this conflict. Europe will be impacted because of the sanctions they imposed, which can be un-imposed I guess but they have put themselves in a bind.

Yeah slaves. You know, the guys who ran a BTR over their battalion commander and cut his legs off. The ones who disable their vehicles rather than fight.

"being used" as cannon fodder is different that "are" cannon fodder. Which they are right now because Russia has decided it can't fight with infantry and armor so it's fallen back on its huge advantage in artillery and yeah the Ukrainians are getting smashed by it. Hence the howitzers and now MLRS because nothing kills artillery like artillery.

"Old Europe" is a big loser in this whole situation, China is the ultimate beneficiary.

Excluding Russia’s gas reserves in Asia, Ukraine today holds the second biggest known gas reserves in Europe. As of late 2019, known Ukrainian reserves amounted to over 1 trillion cubic meters of natural gas, second only to Norway’s known resources of 1.53 trillion cubic meters. To date, these enormous reserves of energy remain largely untapped.

As opinionated as your posts are and as well informed as you claim to be, I would have thought you knew that.

Well now they are going to be tapped by Russians.

(Who could have thought that killing civilians in Donbass for eight years could be so pricey, right?

After all, these people's lives were not suppose to matter.)

Exactly!

All honor to the brave people of Lithuania, who know the pain of Russian bootheels first hand and can not forget it. Likewise Estonia.

Poland too, knows this pain.

Interesting that the most animated people and nations about Russia's aggression in Ukraine were either once in the Russian empire or the Soviet Union, or otherwise in the Warsaw pact. These people are not aggressors, they flee from Russian abuses. They know what is at stake here, they fear the Orcs from Moscow.

Todays Update...getting alot of info from Russian milbloggers...Kherson maybe more than a small Ukrainian incursion

Quote:
The Ukrainian counteroffensive in Kherson Oblast has gotten the attention of Russian forces in the area, and the Russians are scrambling to secure the vital ground line of communication (GLOC) the Ukrainians have threatened

Russian milbloggers are expressing growing alarm about the threat of Ukrainian counteroffensives in the areas Russian forces have deprioritized while concentrating on Severodonetsk.

Russian milbloggers have increasingly focused on tracking the rate of Ukrainian counterattacks in late May.[1] Pro-Russian Telegram channel “Dmitriyev” (over 100,000 followers) reported that Ukrainian forces are fully capable of inflicting ”painful and cutting blows” on Russian GLOCs in Kherson, Kharkiv, and Zaporizhia Oblasts by July-August due to lack of adequate Russian defensive forces in the areas.

Russian authorities are likely anticipating Ukrainian partisan pressure in Luhansk Oblast.

Russian forces continue to undermine the economic viability of areas they are attempting to capture
Key Takeaways

Quote:
Russian forces reportedly made incremental advances north of Slovyansk but likely have not yet been able to take control of the road into Slovyansk.

Russian forces are attempting to advance towards Lysychansk from the south and west in order to avoid having to fight across the Siverskyi Donets River from Severodonetsk but are having limited successes so far.

Russian troops made incremental gains north of Avdiivka.

Russian troops reportedly destroyed Ukrainian-built bridges over the Inhulets River near Davydiv Brid in response to Ukrainian counteroffensive pressure.
Quote:
Activity in Russian-occupied areas (Russian objective: consolidate administrative control of occupied areas; set conditions for potential annexation into the Russian Federation or some other future political arrangement of Moscow’s choosing)

Some Russian milbloggers continue to question Russian policy, this time regarding the status of occupied territories. The Head of Russian State Duman Internationa Committee Leonid Slutskiy claimed that Russia may annex Kherson Oblast and the Donetsk and Luhansk People’s Republics (DNR and LNR) as soon as July.[30] A small-scale Russian Telegram Channel MoscowCalling ridiculed Slutskiy’s announcement, noting that Russian forces have not secured the land corridor to Crimea via Zaporizhia Oblast.
