Enough waiting for some far-left or far-right alternative to emerge. How about a new centrist party? Some reasonable people who actually want to solve problems instead of spit fire to rile up their base.

The Left has seen success for one reason, and one reason only. Tenacity. Other factors certainly helped, but their willingness to keep at the game - to live it, not just play it - is why an evolved version of a plan hatched over a century ago is nearing completion today.

They're goal oriented and organized. Their strategy is long term, and they're willing to put the effort in without a guaranteed result. They understand branding and marketing. They've taken over the media and communications, so they're able to control dissent.

They have no moral code to live by, so the barriers keeping honest people from cheating don't exist for this group. Think about how that changes the game. How do you beat an opponent who's willing to cheat and can get away with it?

Short of Democrats acknowledging that their party has been taken over and purging that ideology from every aspect of their existence (which we know won't happen), there's only one alternative to settling this division with violence. It's time for the people who care about the ideas and principles our country was founded on to stand up for them, in every conceivable way.

The Left is winning because they live the game. We have to start doing the same. We'll never undo the damage they've done, if we're not willing to work at least as hard as they did to create it.

Shift the vast majority if your political energy from national races/issues to governments closer to home. That's step one.

Get extremely familiar with your local, county and state governments. A lot of effort is spent on keeping us focused on national politics, but it's local politics which not only affects your life the most, but is also where national candidates start out. Riots were able to continue unabated all last year because local elected officials permitted it to happen. This fight is local.

Run for office, if you can. Ignore "want." If you can do something to bring principled governance back to your area, or to improve what's there already, do it. Our republican form of government is "of the People." That's you. Get involved.

If you can't run for office, get involved in other ways. From PTA meetings to city council meetings to debates between candidates for dog catcher, get involved. Get to know the elected and appointed positions in your governments, who's currently filling them and who wants the job. Obviously, don't trust what they say, and research their background. If you see anything questionable, challenge them about it. If you catch a bunch of flack, it means you're over the target - push harder.

If our country can be saved, we have very, very little time left. Debating online is a great way to spend a lot of time doing nothing about it. Get to work.

Sorry, but you lost me early on with your wrong claim that the Left plays the long game. It's fairly widely admitted that it's the Right playing the long game, whether dating back to Reagan or Gingrich or whomever. You can see it in the gerry-mandering. And Reps are good at keeping an iron grip on the party, whereas Dems tend to have a lot of dissent. Even now, you see Dems pushing back at Biden, even after only a few months, in a way that Reps never dared to do with Trump.

Of course, you would have lost me shortly thereafter anyway, with your gratuitous insults.

Plenty of Democrats told everyone it was Russian hacking of ballot machines, which was false

Plenty more democrats told everyone there was collusion, which was also a false conspiracy theory

For 4 years Trump was said to be illegitimately elected, yet as soon as Biden wins any and all detractors are told to shut up and not to look into anything

Yet when Chen and Rodden drew hundreds of random district maps using a nonpartisan computer algorithm, they found that their maps were biased in favor of Republicans too, sometimes as much as the official map. Democratic voters in the early 2000s, they found, were clustering into highly homogeneous neighborhoods in big cities like Miami and spreading out their remaining support in suburbs and small towns that got swallowed up inside Republican-leaning districts. They were packing and cracking themselves.

Nevertheless, Chen and Rodden write, Democratic cartographers have a tougher job than Republican ones, who “can do strikingly well by literally choosing precincts at random.”

The far-left have been playing the long game, the long road through the institutions since the 1960's. Academia used to be conservative, now it's 95% run by Marxists. At last they are now breaking out into big tech, corporate media, and the Democrat establishment.

If you don't stop the woke, not just conservatives but especially liberals, then the woke will wreck every last fiber that binds this country together - ON PURPOSE

So you have decided that debating on line does nothing. Congratulations. Can we look forward to less posting?

The 2012 election destroyed the chances of that happening. We had the opportunity to support and vote in a pro-liberty/freedom President who was focused on the economy and stability above everything else and could appeal to both sides but we squandered it on Obama and Romney.

And Rand Paul, as much as I like him, doesn't come close to reaching his father's success in the national election as evidenced with him dropping out of the 2016 election early on due to lack of support.

The Pauls tried to warn us about the trap that the left-right paradigm will leave us in and the need for a bipartisan movement but the masses didn't want to hear it or, rather, the media cleverly decreased their coverage of them in favor of stoking up tension between both political parties.

So, because of the 2012 election, we will be coerced into choosing one side(Right or Left) for ages to come (maybe forever) and I don't see that changing anytime soon.

Americans will keep voting for the "lesser evil" and the media and established politicians will do everything in their power to prevent a true centrist party from emerging or gaining enough power to disrupt this cycle.

It was mostly the Republicans and the Trump administration who said that. Democrats basically repeat what the Republicans said.
