What could go wrong with a party that created the standards in Detroit, Baltimore, DC, S Chicago, now Minniapolis, Portland. Dems, F-up everywhere they go
"Social Justice Math" only in a Leftists mind would this woke?"
All this will do is have people with the financial means to teach more advanced math will just hire tutors. Once again those who are economically disadvantaged lose.

Have you seen the thread about how someone in Minneapolis is wising up? You might be interested in it.
By the way, what does your last sentence mean? "Social Justice Math" only in a Leftists mind would this woke?" I'm having trouble understanding what you're trying to say because it seems to be missing words.
Yes..social justice Math. Always thought that Math would be left out of this social justice push because there's nothing racist about Math.
But the good ole Ivory Tower folks always seem to find a way to turn everything into the quest for "social equity"
NCTM is the organization that has put this together.

Equity-based mathematics teaching requires more than implementing new curriculum or using specific practices because it involves taking a stand for what is right. It requires mathematics teachers to reflect on their own identity, positions, and beliefs in regards to racist and sorting-based mechanisms.
I don't understand why the parents aren't tackling this head on.
Do they WANT their kids to be stupid?
Because this will only affect poor kids with exceptional math talent, and their parents don't vote. The wealthy will go to private schools or take advanced math courses outside of their school.
It seems they are seeking addition through subtraction, which is an oxymoron, and can only go progressively downward. Like digging a hole. Which goes hand in hand with critical race theory.
The best way to teach the many area's of math to people who have trouble getting it on paper is giving them projects to build, and then show them all the math that went into that. That is just one example. Mixing instructions is another simple way to teach math, which is found in many applications. Where the results are right in front of them rather than a figure on paper.
When they do that, then it makes sense on paper.
What good is math without application. It also shows the importance in everyday life.

Reason: To add two sentences at the top
It seems these things that they are doing is taking away a teachers greatest honor, in teaching children from their humble position to advance in achieving their gifted greatness. As one who supports and lifts them up along the way.
The teachers greatest task is finding the unique gift in each student. Like looking for treasures, to be opened and shared.
There are great musicians who can't read music.
If the teacher only wants to be the smartest person in the room, their missing it.
When you look at the building blocks these teachers are using, it goes like this. First they teach them language, reading and writing. Then from there they teach the whites that they are evil and racist from birth. Then they throw in sexual confusion, and from there they go to teaching math into a pool of negativity. And who knows what else. Deviance.
When they say white priviledge out of one side of their mouth and evil from birth out of the other side of their mouths. It is another oxymoron. In an oxymoronic world, everything loses its meaning. The Marxist web of unending struggle.
