About 20% of the population have had it at this point. However immunity tends to decrease over time. Many have gotten it twice. Even the vaccine does not prevent it you from getting it or spreading it. It will just be mild.

Many have gotten it twice? Or a few very rare almost non existing in the scheme of things have? Time to move on as I said. I am all for anyone that doesn't feel comfortable doing what they feel is appropriate. I would never force anyone to go outside their comfort zone.

I just saw where South Africa has ordered a stop to giving the Astra Zeneca vaccine because it is totally worthless against the SA variant.

Much better to get a deadly virus then?

I just have no clue why all these conspiracy loving anti vaxers bizarrely all seem to want us to get this virus. So strange

It is closer to 10% of the population (25 million cases so far)
We need 70% of the population to have immunity.

New evidence shows that the AstraZeneca vaccine has limited efficacy against the new South African strain of Covid.

Still have to see other vaccines, but I wonder if this will lead to a new wave of lockdowns as it spreads into the US around March.
Research has shifted to vaccines effective against new emerging mutations.

In the UK Imperial College and Glaxosmithkline (GSK) have shifted their research, and the same is true in relation to other universities and bio-pharma companies across the globe.

It's whack-a-mole. By the time these are developed there will be new ones. The only hope we have is that immunity or exposure to one will result in at least some protection/less severity in others. As it stands now, none of us had any immunity when this all began.

The Chinese need to brought to account for this mess.

Hopefully they can develop an effective multi-variant vaccine and hopefully other vaccines remain effective.

I don't think anyone believes the number of confirmed cases is actually how many have had it. My entire family had it, yet I only got tested. They literally told us not to bother getting the other 4 of us tested. All of us had the classic covid symptoms.

AstraZeneca vaccine appears safe—but experts say efficacy results were based on 'potentially misleading' data
AstraZeneca, accused of inflating the efficacy of the vaccine, promises to release updated results soon. If they validate the vaccine's safety, it could help ease concerns after reports of blood clots.
