California has a population so large it could be a separate country. More people than Australia, more people than Canada. AND it has a lot of Trump supporters who refuse to social distance and wear PPE, something those two countries don't have to contend with

Cloth bandanas aren't saving any lives, contrary to the misinformation you're getting and believing.
Masks are not "bandanas" there's a difference, and masks DO work, but a mask ALONE does nothing, you also need social distancing AND hand/surface santizers, all 3 together are needed just like putting oil gas AND antifreeze in your car are required to run it.
You only have to go back to 1918's flu pandemic and see that the infections and deaths reduced when masks were MANDATED under penalty of a $5 to $100 fine ($5 is about $85 in todays' money) or ten days in JAIL.
If proper and well fitting masks didn't work, then explain why doctors and nurses and surgeons all wear them and always have, especially surgeons!

After the initial onslaught in the I-95 corridor it has been Red states tempting Covid’s wrath, generally speaking.

California is in the middle of the pack. There are several red states including South Dakota, Indiana, Arkansas and Mississippi with far worse death rates.

Both states contain the nation's largest cities. Apparently this simple fact is unknown by you.
Newsome (D) has been a disaster for CA in every way, just like Cuomo (D) has been a disaster for NY in every way. Sane people need to leave those states as long as they don’t vote Democrat in their new states. The people who elected Newsom and Cuomo should stay put and live with (or more likely die from) their voting habits.
