Covid has been very inconvenient for the Trumps. Of course they have to downplay it. I'm sure the families of the deceased think it's more than almost nothing.

There are a number of ways to look at Trump Jr's response.
When in comparison to those who died only of COVID ( approx.12,000)
to those with underlying health problems then yes. It is almost nothing.
12,000 of 230,000 total US Covid deaths is 5%
12,000 of 9.6 million world wide deaths is .12% ( less than 1% )
Of 9.6 million dying world wide less than 1% of U.S. population
died of COVID only virus.
So......by calculation
12,000 U.S. Covid only related deaths is almost nothing
when compared to the world wide 9.6 million who have perished.
Fact:
480,000 deaths by smoking per year, 41,000 by second hand smoke.
1,300 deaths per day. Economies up and running. No shutdown.
750,000 death by illicit drug use per year. 2,054 per day.
Economies up and running.
Total of Death by Smoking and Illicit Drug use..
one million two hundred thirty thousand per year......WOW!
1,230,000
Self infliction death far greater than COVID.
Easily fixed. Right ? ............................Go figure.

As I have asked before ( and not answered) What do these 1000 deaths actually do the adversely impacts the rest of us or the USA in General? What would 10000 deaths do? Other than sad people what is the impact?
NIH estimates 300k people die every year directly from obesity. That's about 1k per day. Has any politician's relative weighed in on either how tragic or how inconsequential that is?
Does it need to be pointed out that obesity isn't a transmittable disease? I guess it does.
And there was a First Lady who quite recently suggested Americans could perhaps stand to eat healthier. The porcine squeals of outrage from the Perpetually Offended Right were deafening.

1000 people per day might be dying with a COVID diagnosis; but only a small fraction of those are dying directly from or because of it. it's equally appropriate to ask whether the confinement of COVID patients to nursing homes was a factor, particularly for those residents not previously exposed to the disease.
COVID is not a hoax, but it has been distorted, orchestrated and stage-managed from its first stirrings, for the "benefit' of the insecure and the impressionable, and by those with a political agenda far out-of-synch with the American tradition of a skeptical attitude toward "experts" and unjustified power.

Let's say that the covid epidemic was mishandled. I've read on here that it's going to get worse, believe it if you want. What is Biden's plan? I have only heard he wants a nation wide lockdown. I ask as I honestly do not know.
Keep in mind when Trump stopped people from China entering the US in January due to covid, Biden said he was "overreacting".
Biden has hindsight to attack this short term epidemic, he should have a solid plan.
