Nine U.S. states have reported record increases in COVID-19 cases over the last seven days, mostly in the upper Midwest and West where chilly weather is forcing more activities indoors.
On Saturday alone, four states - Kentucky, Minnesota, Montana and Wisconsin - saw record increases in new cases and nationally nearly 49,000 new infections were reported, the highest for a Saturday in seven weeks, according to a Reuters analysis. Kansas, Nebraska, New Hampshire, South Dakota and Wyoming also set new records for cases last week.
When this graph showing hospitalizations starts trending upward I will be more inclined to read articles declaring a rise in Covid. Too many of these articles are poorly written, written with an objective in mind, or poorly researched. https://www.cdc.gov/coronavirus/2019...iew/index.html
Seniors need to take precautions and protect themselves. They can't count on the public to do everything in their power to stop the spread of the virus. Democrats have burned the public out with mask shaming, politicking over a virus, calling Trump Hitler for the virus, etc. People can only take so much, and then they stop paying attention or caring and do everything they can to block out the madness.
It doesn't necessarily mean more deaths. It's possible - likely even - that many (most) of the new cases are in the demographic that rarely dies from COVID. That's because young(er) people are getting out and about more, getting back to work, back to school, back to sports, and so on. It would have been quite surprising if the cases did NOT rise at some point.
But - this does not have to lead to more deaths.
In any case, hospitalizations is the key. If you see that taking, say, a 50% increase - then you can start worrying again.
Oklahoma set another record on Saturday with 1533 new cases. Lots of people don't want to wear masks at private gatherings. But some hospitals are about out of ICU beds.
And unfortunately, this means more deaths will happen in the following weeks
I fear this winter could potentially be worse than the summer
So in other words when people could have exposed themselves with a good immune system , many will be exposed during the waning lights. Death brought by Democratic principles.
99% of the people that get it survive. It is what it is. Let's deal with it.
Too bad how that means hospitals are running out of ICU beds. Other people severely sick with something else may need those beds. Lack of nurses is also a problem. Not surprising. I wouldn't want to work around covid patients everyday.
