The actual key is maintain six feet difference, don’t cough or sneeze indoors or on something people might handle. Everyone did that this pandemic would be gone.
I don’t want to kill those who don’t wear masks nor do I have a beagle that sniffs out Covid 19 sufferers.
That's what I thought. Yesterday, I thought this pandemic has turned our beloved whogo into some nut case.
Masks are mostly to protect others from your coughs and sneezes, etc. not the other way around. It's respectful to wear them in public settings. You're saying, "I don't think I have the virus, but just in case I do not want to infect snyone I may or may not know." I'd be horrified to learn that I gave it to folks by not wearing a mask.
So the same people who carry guns and say they do so for protection (their own and that of others) refuse to wear a mask in public because 'Murica! And mah freedom! SMH
Apparently some of these masks, such as the N95 mask, can hamper breathing and lower oxygen intake if worn for long periods of time. Face masks can also worsen a person's health if they have a pre-existing lung condition.
Well this bit of news is very reassuring! I wear my N100 mask for minutes at a time each time I go out grocery shopping.
I will wear my mask for other's sake until conditions have FACTUALLYimproved
The problem is Covid-19 presents itself as asymptotically in many people. Unless you're testing yourself everyday, you have no idea if you're sick or not from it.
But because you don't have symptoms from it doesn't mean the person you give it to will be the same.
The masks (ranging from cloth masks to the n95) prevent you from spreading respiratory droplets into the air and surfaces. In Asian countries where wearing a mask was a cultural norm before Covid-19, they have all escaped not only the mass-dying from covid-19 we see in the west, but also the economic shutdowns. In South Korea, Taiwan, Japan, and now China, they're open for business, while we're not. This is with a much lower casualty tally.
I myself hate wearing a mask too, but I'm not about to put myself above someone's health. I'm not scared of getting covid-19, i never had the flu and while maybe this is pride before the fall, I feel I'd be one of those asymptotic cases. But, others catching it from me won't be. If you're going to be indoors with people you don't live with, wear a mask. It's that easy. Just like you wear pants so we don't see your junk, wear a mask.
The best way to prevent yourself from giving covid-19 to the rest of the world, if the democrat socialist in you is so inclined, is to not get it yourself in the first place and I hate to break the news to you but use of cloth masks can only increase your risk.
Thats because you touch it putting it on, taking it off, you constantly adjust it, its itchy so you scratch your face. I am constantly seeing people in stores f***ing around with these goddamn masks.
Before they made this stupid s*** mandatory I could go all day without touching my face a single time. With proper social distancing it would have been virtually impossible to ever get this.
Now its almost guaranteed Im gonna touch some common item, transfer it to the face covering.and put it on my.face.
The government does not know what the f*** they are doing here, and you mask proponents are going under the assumption that you are eventually going to get it, can you deny that? Of course not.
Some protection is better than none - both for me and for others. Relative to the efficacy of a mask - this article - which I've posted numerous times - is well worth reading in its entirety. It bears out the likelihood of virus transmission via HVAC - and the value of masks.
For me, the most compelling statement is:
Quote:
none of those passengers in the two buses who wore face masks were infected.
Out of two different sets of passengers, thirteen passengers were infected by one carrier. Even those sitting at the front of the bus were infected by the guy at the back of the bus.
Imo, wearing a mask is a no-brainer.
I have both N95s and level 3 surgical masks, still available on eBay, here:
I don't go out except to grocery store every two-three weeks. I wear the surgical mask to the grocery store, etc. Haven't felt it necessary to wear the N95. Tried it on - not a comfortable mask by any means.
If were flying anywhere, I'd be wearing the N95, with the surgical mask over that (I've seen docs do this) and goggles. NBC medical correspondent in hospital w/COVID after flying - says he thinks he got through his eyes - wasn't wearing goggles.
I've always washed my hands whenever I've been out of the house, so that's an easy habit to keep. Wearing mask is a pain - but a much bigger pain would be getting COVID. I'd be stupid not to try to protect myself - albeit imperfectly.

Like it or hate it the following is only my opinion:
Working in confined spaces and health exposures wore N95's for almost 40 years.
Difficult to wear as you can lose consciousness for prolonged periods of time,
a high temperature environment ( I predict few wearing masks this summer )
and pay special attention..... if you have underlying problems such as a cold ,cough, etc......All true.
N95 can serve both as a blessing and a curse. You must remain in tune with your body when to wear or not wear the mask.
