I agree with this. People can choose a name. It’s not an immutable characteristic. But by forcing people to use pronouns that are inconsistent with the truth then it’s basically forcing you to lie to yourself and society as a whole. In the Korean War the soldiers captured by China were offered perks if they wrote essays about why China wasn’t so bad. The communist know that once you get people to admit things that aren’t true it becomes progressively easier to control them.
