However, upon reading, there is a bit of merit to this, though the $100 million is laughable, the Martin side has been going on a constant blitz for years now, and has been very publicly stating things that were either not proven, or proven to be not factual in court regarding the case and Zimmerman.

Basically, it is like being found not guilty in court, and the losing side goes on a years long publicity spree stating incorrect facts about the case and general mud slinging, that is generally going to invite a lawsuit whether it is this, a car accident, or whatever.

Maybe more info will come to change my opinion.
There is very little (if any) public sympathy for Zimmerman at this point, so a court wont be swayed by that.

And yes, the entire thing has lingered on.......

There was intra family fighting among the varied convoluted Martin clan among "rights to Trayvon's name" and such over money raising events afterwards, one time devolving into fistfights instigated by Trayvon's mother over sweatshirts being sold with Trayvon's image at a "memorial" service by her shirt tail relatives. a year after his death.

Sabrina Fulton (Trayvon's mother) went on to allow her self be displayed by the DNC like a show horse in 2016 as a woman under the "Mothers of a Movement" campaign the dems tried to gin up for Hillary's support in that election.

A lot of hoo-ha over a punk thug getting rightfully plugged while beating a man's head against a sidwealk who was simply on neighborhood watch back in 2012.

He didn't murder Martin; he shot him in self defense.

Trayvon's parents failed their son.

Nobody has any proof of what happened that night.
Dead men tell no tales.

Zimmerman didn't murder anyone. He shot a thug who violently attacked him.

There was lots of proof of many things that happened that night.

Although we don't know exactly what happened, the evidence backs up Zimmerman's account, and it's logical.

Its one thing to win a judgement, its another to actually collect the money.
I think money is just a part of it, though he seems to have no means of support. Zimmerman is probably trying to parlay this into media attention and money even if he loses. The guy is definitely disturbed. He's threatened to shoot more than one person and he was arrested for cyberstalking and harassment.

He definitely wants attention--it's all he's got. He stalked Martin just as he stalks others. He has initiated every illegal and threatening interaction he has had. He should have been put away after he provoked the entire Martin killing. I hope his penchant for harassing and threatening people is allowed in the lawsuit as evidence of his violent and impulsive nature.

"....Most recently, Zimmerman was arrested in 2018 on charges he cyberstalked and harassed a private investigator working with film producer Michael Gasparro and Jay-Z on a documentary series about Trayvon Martin. The private investigator told deputies that Zimmerman called him 21 times, sent him 38 text messages and left him seven voicemails, all within two and a half hours...."

In 2013, Zimmerman was arrested and charged with felony aggravated assault for allegedly pointing a shotgun at his girlfriend, though the case was later dropped. Two years later, he was arrested again — this time for charges of domestic aggravated assault for allegedly throwing a bottle of wine at his girlfriend..."
