The polls confirm this. People in places that have relatively fewer illegals are the most ardent supporters of the wall etc. The border states and the sun belt generally where illegals have been migrating for a few decades now, are on second and third generations, and are part of the economy and the culture seem far less concerned. It's pretty hard to make the economic argument that illegals hurt things as these states are among the fastest growing and most prosperous in the country (NM excepted). If anything, the influx of illegals has been a boon to growth there

In the 2008 census, New Mexico was nearly majority Hispanic (with 85% or so native born) and likely is by now. It's pretty hard for them to buy into Trump's rapist, murderer, drug dealer characterization of their ethnic group.

Note how these people always have to pull the skin color/race card instead of focusing on what this is really about and that's an illegal invasion of our country and hundreds of thousands in caravans coming to make bogus asylum claims? You're right this BS ain't working anymore but they sure keep trying, don't they?

Unpossible. I'm informed that everyone on the border understands the necessity - nay, urgency! - of this particular crisis.

A border state that doesn't think there's an emergency on the border. Imagine that.
Arizona’s a border state too. Will you defend Jan Brewer and Joe Arpaio?

hundreds of thousands? Really? Oh noes!

Meanwhile in reality the number is 14,000, and if past history is any guide that means....5,000 people seeking asylum (and about 250 making it). Big whoop. And we have a process for that because its legal for them to do so. Your fear mongering is not working as well as you like, but you sure do keep trying. And thats why people point towards it maybe being racism, because the alternative is that a lot of people are completely divorced from reality.

Reality is, this is not a crisis. If it were one do you know what the correct solution is? Its not building a wall. Its hiring more judges.
