Just a little clue for those that are bad at logic. They are coming through checkpoints because we have at least SOME wall now. As opposed to just driving across the border.

Kind hard to get a truck full of fentanyl over a wall with a latter.

This bust proves that Trump's statements about walls work.

Your obvious fail, with that long diatribe is the fallacious jump to conclusions that because all of the drugs are not caught that the wall shouldn't be built. Any engineer will laugh at you for that argument.

The OP and even you just confirmed the need for it.
Statistics indicate a rather large majority of drugs come through ports of entry, a wall will not solve this issue.

Statistics would indicate that a large majority of CONFISCATED drugs come through ports of entry.

Who would confiscate drugs in the middle of nowhere, away from a port of entry?

Would drug smugglers be certain to only cross the border at legal posts of entry? Really?

Well, firstly because many of the biggest drug smugglers of all time have made videos, movies and books about their exploits. Generally, they either:

1. Come in at point of entry
2. Buy fleets of planes and boats and fly or float it in
3. Dig MILES of tunnels

I don't recall any of them saying they break it into small packages and jump a fence.

Haven't any of you watched all the various documentaries on this stuff?

We're not talking cave dwellers and low budget operations here.

All moot points since no one will even build sea to shining sea anyway. Does anyone really think a river, state park or a couple hills ("natural barriers") is going to stop BILLIONS of dollars. Heck, we cut the top 1,000 feet off a mountain for gravel or coal without a thought.

Let me present a couple very simple ideas - besides all the obvious..

1. Submarines - Columbians already built some...but these modern dudes would but good models.
2. Refit aircraft with stealth equipment - and/or even buy some (Ruskies will glad to sell old models).
3. Basic cheapo Drones - easily can go up to 10 miles, winged ones can do 50 miles. Cheap, Easy.
4. Refit cheapo drones to stealth mode...not needed now since they cannot detect them anyway, but this is waiting in the wings if they ever can detect them.

Just those few things would require many 10's of billions per year in countermeasures....this in addition to every train, plane, boat, person (yes, inside people, car, truck and manufactured item.

I wish this was something we could wage on...because my winnings would be epic. It's not even a question. The odds are thousands to one in my favor.

BTW, these days a lot of people use FedEx and the Post office and various other services. Even Busses will haul freight for you - cheap. And, no, dogs cannot detect stuff like in the movies if the smugglers know what they are doing. If they could...then 95% or more wouldn't be getting through.

Another Big Lie...that's it possible to stop human pleasure seeking (check what Prohibition did) and secondly that, if you were going to attempt this impossible feat, that a Steel Slat would do the job.

Imagine...we could have won Korea or Vietnam just by building steel slats along the DMZ or such.

No, they are coming through checkpoints after MANY decades of experience because it is the most productive, easiest and most profitable way.

You underestimate your fellow human...by a long shot. They learn from experience and that experience tells them it's easier to buy influence with LE and in other ways than to hump a few pounds through the desert. Heck, even in the 1960's they flew it all with their own planes.

Stop thinking that you are dealing with cave dwellers. These are multi-billion dollar corporations....and they involve Americans and others of many nationalities.

Basically, these are the choices....

1. Americans could stop their desires to get high.
2. We could just accept that it's an individual choice and live with it -like we live with 10's of thousands dying from car accidents and other preventable means.
3. We could, like some country, institute the death penalty or long jail terms for EVERY user of drugs we don't like (remember, we like pot in some places now). This would involve the State executing or jailing perhaps 30 million Americans.

Take your choice. A Wall has nothing to do with any of them.
