I have a feeling the callouts are sort of strike or protest organized by their unions. Anyone that is working is an essential employee, they get paid so what is their issue?
Security officers (TSA) are considered essential employees, they have to work regardless of whether they get paid. They are going to miss paychecks... Many cannot afford to miss today's paycheck.
Its been said many times, many ways: Mortgage payments. Car payments. Rent is due. Insurance premiums. College tuition and book bills for their children. Need to feed the family dinner tonight. Prescription and medical co-pays.
