Why the need to advertize that you have weapons ?
If you have adversaries why warn them?
Armed citizens is a good thing but open carry has no useful purpose that I can perceive in peacetime
It takes me about 1 1/2 seconds to draw from my holster single handed.
It takes 2 seconds or a tad more to draw from my waistband, with a shirt over. It takes two hands. One to lift your shirt and one to draw. and if in a hurry and you don't get your shirt you and out of the way of the draw, things can go bad. No more tucked in shirts if you CC.
An average person in attack mode, with a knife can cover 20-22ft. by the time you get drawn, with a holstered weapon.
Here, that would be making a false report. She would be cuffed and stuffed and her kids put in guardian care until she bailed out.

How did you come to the conclusion, he was holding a gun?
He would have gone to jail for brandishing a weapon, here. Unless it was a shotgun or rifle, with the barrel downward.
I got, he had an offensive shirt to non gun owning moms at the park and is a CCL holder.

Years ago I saw a dark-skinned young male with a shaved head, a goatee, and darkish baggy clothes walking down the street in the ghetto.
When I got home I called the cops to turn myself in. It was logical to do that.
In this day and age with open carry in some states, you just don't know who is going to take out their gun and start firing. Better safe than sorry. But this is the problem with open carry....you just don't know. And no she doesn't need anxiety medication. She would be hailed a hero if this guy opened fire.
When has a legal open carrying citizen just started firing for no reason? Do you have any accounts of that?
First of all, the guy was a bonehead. Anyone who openly carries a gun to a park, where there are families and children, needs his head examined. Then, on top of it, he has to wear a confrontational T shirt that makes him look even more deranged.
A lot of the problems you gun nuts are having are brought on by yourselves. Somehow, 99.99 percent of us are able to function daily and even go to a park without having to display a weapon to make us look cooler or more macho. This guy was looking for trouble, and he got it.
While, I have pro firearms T shirts, have a CPL, and on occasion have open carried, I tend to pick and choose my venues for those things. That is me though. This guy did not break any laws, the only think he's guilty of is bad judgment. But in your eyes that makes him deranged and a gun nut....hmmm.
