Obama was skewered every day he was in office. Not a day went by when there wasn't some critical article written about him, or some critical statement made on tv.
Obama had an adversarial relationship with the press, like all Presidents do. However, there's a good attitude (done with a smile, cordiality, answering questions, not being thin skinned or taking offense at questions...and a joke or two), and then there's a bad attitude (a scowl, telling someone you won't call on them 'cause they're fake news, accusing one of intentionally lying to the public to make him look bad, and of all things...complaining that they're taking unflattering pictures of him and they should always use his left side and not show a double chin).
Trump is not a politician. He doesn't have people skills. He's not used to "handling" the press and sidestepping an issue or answering questions about details. He's used to barking orders, and people obey.
The press is not going to obey him. That's not their job. It's their duty to question him, verify what he says, follow up on statements he's made, ask about things he does, ask about all issues.
I hope someone on Trump's team can teach him these things...although I don't think any of them have any experience with government work and the press, from a governmental viewpoint. Trump needs to learn that there will be unflattering pictures of him taken. Thousands of pictures. It doesn't matter. It no longer matters if there's a big or small crowd. Petty things take a back seat to important issues, now.
Gonna be a long 4 years. Constant battles with his own people here in America and with various groups. He got off to a bad start. No experience with team work, government work, political work.
This sounds more like blackmail than anything else. We all kinda had this feeling already, but the fact that he goes public with this statement just confirms his intent to spread dissension rather than news.
All he has to do to spread dissension, is tell the truth about the calamity that is unfolding in this country. Luckily, the rest of the world has another source of news, besides Trump's tweeting.
You're a horse & carriage CNN and cars were just invented.
Great post. Repped.
The other thing this boob doesn't get is that Trump is damned happy with people around the world being a little afraid. He is the bad cop. If Trump notices at all, he is only going to use CNN to stoke the fire.

Sadly from what I read the world is not looking at Trump as
any kind of cop at all but more as an insecure fool whose
feeling get's hurt easily.
The part they are "afraid" of is his unstable temper tantrums and petty
behavior.

I'd sure the smart people in the Chinese and Russian governments also watch Fox News to understand what is truly going on in America.
Also, they probably learned far more about Washington and its secrets through Hillary's e-mails. I bet the corporate server at Trump Entertainment Resorts is probably more secure than Hillary's emails.
He's just stating a fact. I'm guessing there was no other way to explain reality to the White House, who seems intent on declaring war on our democratic free press.
To start off one's Presidency by declaring war on the free press is foolish and naive. No White House loves the press. There is always a sort of adversarial relationship.
Trump is learning a lesson. He can deny the press access and interviews and information, but ultimately, the free press is as powerful as the Presidency. It's in our Constitution and part of our democracy. It's not going anywhere, and it has a bully pulpit, too.
Trump is used to bullying those without power. He may have met his match.
He's so thin skinned that it seems abnormal. He is going to be criticized every day he is in office, just like all the other Presidents. He had better get used to it, or his legacy will be that he went down in flames like Nixon.
CNN is a highly respected, legitimate news organization. It employs the best of the best. If a President has trouble with CNN, that President has a problem with the public getting information. And that's a problem.
CNN is not the "free" press. It is a cable network that is SUBSCRIPTION based.
