I am a centrist... nothing should be set in concrete.. put most all maybe.. It depends on the situation. We are so far left with Obama we need some center and opened mindedness with a lot of common sense because this country is going down fast.

What's funny is that yesterday, here on CD, one poster told me that I was a "socialist commie red" while another one told me that I was a republican and I needed to stop lying about being an independent!
That's what they tell me too. According to the quiz I am libertarian centrist.

I think you have to take the extra question test to get a better idea. Too much weight on issues you don't care too much about on the basic test. I do happen to live in the right area for my beliefs.

According to your answers, the political group that agrees with you most is...

LEFT (LIBERAL)
Liberals usually embrace freedom of choice in personal matters, but tend to support significant government control of the economy. They generally support a government-funded "safety net" to help the disadvantaged, and advocate strict regulation of business. Liberals tend to favor environmental regulations, defend civil liberties and free expression, support government action to promote equality, and tolerate diverse lifestyles.

REMEMBER, CONSENT MEANS THE POWER TO SAY “NO!”

. . .
*****************
"What I do say is that no man is good enough to govern another man without that other's consent. I say this is the leading principle, the sheet-anchor of American republicanism. Our Declaration of Independence says: "We hold these truths to be self-evident: That all men are created equal; that they are endowed by their Creator with certain inalienable rights; that among these are life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness. That to secure these rights, governments are instituted among men, deriving their just powers from the consent of the governed."
- - - Abraham Lincoln, Speech at Peoria, Illinois (1854)
Abraham Lincoln - Wikiquote

As Lincoln reminds us, under the republican form, promised by the USCON, instituted by the Declaration of Independence, NO MAN (nor American government) is good enough to govern you without your consent. Without your consent, all that government is authorized to do is secure rights (prosecute trespass; adjudicate disputes; defend against enemies, foreign or domestic).

Job #1 : secure rights,
Job #2 : govern those who consent.
Caveat - Consent waives job #1!

I usually always get the "middle of the road" when I take those tests, have taken several over the yrs and centrist is what I always seem to score.

I think some people are just too extreme. I worked with this one guy and he was so far right it was pretty amazing. He wanted to cut all government programs, get rid of schools, everything.... he didn't like a dime of his tax money to be taken from him.... IDK... just not really practical to be that far to the right. Same goes with the extreme leftist too. They'd take every dime of successful rich peoples money and give it to people who aren't necessarily deserving of it...again, you need some moderation..... just my humble opinion.

According to your answers, the political group that agrees with you most is...

LIBERTARIAN
Libertarians support maximum liberty in both personal and economic matters. They advocate a much smaller government; one that is limited to protecting individuals from coercion and violence. Libertarians tend to embrace individual responsibility, oppose government bureaucracy and taxes, promote private charity, tolerate diverse lifestyles, support the free market, and defend civil liberties.

Pretty much confirms what I've always claimed to be!
So much for that- it says I am a liberal.
