Basically the game will be decided on a penalty where a black guy called another black guy the n-word, and didn’t mean anything by it.

Can't we just easily avoid this by not yelling the word ****** on the field?

Oh well. Private employers have that right.

I don't see the problem.

Believe it or not, the NFL is a workplace, not a playground. The rules that apply in any workplace also apply on the gridiron.

how is this left-wing? It seems like no-wing to me.

why make something political that isn't?

Isn't this just a simple case of control-freak Roger Goodell doing what he has been doing since he's been commish?

NFL players file taxes for that "playing," so that means being football players is their job and the NFL is a business.

No, not even close. You can't tackle people in most workplaces and you can't call them any derogatory names at all.

The NFL is not your average workplace.

Exactly. Private employers have the right to impose stupid rules. It's their game.

It is interesting that right-wing extremists think that being courteous, civil and respectful to fellow human beings is being "politically correct" and they object to this. Do you think we should live by the tea party rules which allow for being rude, crude and nasty as possible? Awww--is this an infringement of the first amendment because free speech means you should be allowed to call anyone whatever disgusting term you would like? Apparently belonging to the extreme right wing of the republican party means that because their parents never taught them how a civil society behaves, they should be a allowed to be as rude as they like. Is it because it is football that you believe people should be exempt from the rules of a civil society? Of course, then the same extremists will whine about "thugs" in the NFL.
