'Worker's wages have very little to do with it. A far bigger influence in Ontario losing it's number one position in vehicle making in North America is due to the relative value of the Canadian dollar against the American dollar. It might be of some interest to the RWNJs reading this to understand that the cost of producing each vehicle in Ontario is $1500 less than in the USA in HEALTHCARE COSTS ALONE!!!!!
Yes my friends we have long ago proven that a universal healthcare system saves the country money BIG TIME!!!

In the USA as healthcare costs continue to spiral upwards out of control you will become less and less competitive and you industrial base will continue to shrink.

Correction: single payer healthcare. We have universal healthcare now, but the exception it's the same old system we have except now you can't deny people insurance for any reason. It's still going to make costs go up, because that is the nature of private, for-profit healthcare with almost no competition from a public health sector

Then why did Michigan reclaim the number one position from Ontario if it's so much cheaper in Canada?

Right to work laws made it possible to bring jobs back to Michigan.

Do you have data to back that up? Until then, it is simply a correlation; and anyone who has studied even rudimentary statistics will know that correlation does not equal causation.

The improving economy around the nation had much more to do with auto production and sales than silly RTW. The union workers still belong to their unions. The non union suppliers are still non union. Nothing has fundamentally changed except the fact that people are buying cars again. And when they were making more cars in Ontario, do you believe those workers weren't unionized?

WE will regain the number one spot based on the new plants being built right now and all the upgrades of existing plants going on.

Ha, they're doing the very same upgrades in the SE Michigan plants too. Cutting edge stuff actually...

Obamacare requires the industry to justify any rate increases to Congress. Obviously this is a system open to behind-the-scenes corruption and we must keep an eye on it.
