The title statement is about as dumb as some who post about how many are killed with guns and that in and of itself means we need more regulation. Its like the smoker vs the chewer, don't blow smoke up my ass and I won't spit on you.

We do need more auto restrictions for children driving. I don't understand how a 16 year old is mature enough to drive but a 20 year old is not mature enough to buy a beer.

Where are you getting the number 6,000? That number is simply not true.

About 35,000 Americans died in motor vehicle accidents in 2010, the most recent year for which we have complete data, whereas about 32,000 died from firearms.

Experts predict that if current trends continue, by 2015 firearms deaths will exceed the number of deaths due to motor vehicle accidents in the U.S.

I used a projection that said about 40k will die this year. If you want numbers down to the tenth this is not about that. Its to make a different point. Start your own thread on stats.

You have to take multiple tests to operate a vehicle, how many do you have to take to handle a gun???

Actually, motor vehicle safety measures improve every year and there are restrictions and licensing involved in driving a vehicle. This has led to a decrease in the number of motor vehicle accidents over the years.

So the point the OP is trying to make is not supported. Safety measures and regulation DO lead to fewer deaths.
