I am being silly... But it is true, human cloning is a baaaaaaaaaaaaaad idea.

We don't need to clone people, we already have way too many people in this country! If you feel that cloning people is a good thing because we need more people, then maybe you should be against abortion so more kids would be born. That way we don't need cloning.

Even worse, what if they cloned another George W?!? That would be the end of the human race as we know it!

Well, I'm against it, but I have always thought it would be interesting to clone myself. Then I could raise myself, knowing exactly what to do for my clone so she would be a better, more self actualized person than I turned out to be with the parents I had.

Bottom line. . .one of the many reasons that human cloning is so dangerous is that there are unethical and irresponsible people out that that would put commodity over human dignity.

I guess it becomes a personal issue. The Government should not have a say on whether people should be cloned or not.

I don't really care about cloning because if you have another clone, you can't transfer your own consciousness into that clone... you still die... and your clone will develop its own consciousness.. so it don't really matter... now if you said I could transfer my own consciousness, that would be a different matter... i would love immortality, alas I was born in the wrong millenium...

Heck once we got the technology to clone people, I see no reason why we should then be unable to do brain transplant from a middle-aged body to that of an 18 year old clone (I assume that the human brain is fully grown at age 18?).
And presto, virtual immortality.
All I gotta do now is find a way to become rich so I can afford to grow myself a perfect clone and get a brain-transplant to stay young forever.
