I am 100% against it because can you imagine if people clone many Ted Kennedys??? What is they clone thousands of Bill Clintons?? Then they would impregnate millions of women in the USA!!

The country will go to hell overnight! LOL... Clone thousands of Hillary Clintons and then we will have so many different positions on the same issues, the country will be so confused, it will end up voting for her!!

I am being silly... But it is true, human cloning is a baaaaaaaaaaaaaad idea.

We don't need to clone people, we already have way too many people in this country! If you feel that cloning people is a good thing because we need more people, then maybe you should be against abortion so more kids would be born. That way we don't need cloning.

Hilarious! Tried to give you rep points, but you know how it goes :-)

I'm against human cloning. Maybe I'm selfish but I just want there to be ONE of me. And my daughters are one-of-a-kind ~ so no, cloning is playing God. I vote no.

Remember Dolly? Poor Dolly. I believe I read they had thousands of attempts before the so-called success of "Dolly."

Would you want to take the chance of having a loved one cloned and being one of the unsuccessful attempts.

Human cloning will never succeed and it is in every way playing God. It is against everything in God and nature.

And why on earth would you want to?

Why should we make these artificial people, when there are already too many real people out there already.

Doesn't matter anyways, im against any type of cloning. Let nature take its course and stop f'ing it up.

Very rational question and one some of the scientists might ask themselves. It sees as if they just want to know, and knowing occasionally takes them out on some limb, in this case cloning.

If they could clone individual limbs, as in body parts, perhaps I could see some value to it, but even then, I am not convinced this is the way we should be spending our scientific energy.

Justmy2cents.

Cloning is no more playing God than in-vitro fertalization. However, cloning a whole human is a scientific and sociological dead-end.

The clone will be an individual shaped by different environmental factors than the original, with different features, ideas, and ways of thinking. Those hoping for an exact copy are going to be sorely disappointed, and those with torches and pitchforks, looking for some abomination against God to burn, are going to be quite confused when they can't find the carbon-copy duplicate of the cloned person.

Cloning organs is a wonderful idea, and will bring about enormous progress in medicine and healthcare. The so-called "body doubles" are likewise a likely dead-end because it will probably be vastly easier and more efficient to clone only vital organs which can be transplanted; heart, kidneys, liver, corneas, skin, bone marrow, etc, without all the unnecessary supporting structure that cannot; bones, brain, muscle/fat tissue, nerves, plumbing, etc.

So, of course I support cloning. I don't see the point of cloning an entire human being, but I'm sure someone will, someday.

I wouldn't mind having the ability to order up a few spare organs. I've used this body pretty hard and some of it is wearing out.

I read an article today, too many to remember where, but a scientific article, and the researchers speak of their work related primarily, if not, solely for stem cell research.
