Quite an entitlement mentality.
They are already paying taxes in the other country.
The US is the only developed country to tax US citizens on income no matter where it is generated.

That is double taxation.

Cripes, get a grip; it's been going on for decades. Aside from the likes of Warren Buffet; the very first thing anybody does who acquires wealth in the U.S. is to use a significant portion of it to evade your taxation and live in a more culturally advanced, less insular, environment.
The "rich" aren't working and earning income.

This is an INCOME tax on foreign income.
This is double taxation.

The USG says they want to uncover off shore investments.
In doing that they are also hurting the millions that are not rich and wealthy with offshore accounts.

The truly wealthy have already safeguarded their money against this action. It's called "foreign grantor trusts".
So the IRS will have to settle for those lower level earners.
And the GAO reporting that $95,000 was collected in taxes proves just that.

This site certainly is eye opening to the depths of liberal insanity. How dare someone object to a government that spends like a drunken sailor taking more of their money. The nerve of them!!!

When and IF we ever see conservatives whining about spending like a drunken sailor on the DoD you might approach credibility, until then not so much.

Enjoy those "way more socialistic than America" countries.
You gripe about "socialism" HERE - and your "answer" to move THERE?
LOL

You folks crack me up.

How about when and if we ever see a Republican administration that doesn't spend like a drunken sailor, then they might approach credibility.

That is the predictable, knee-jerk response but what reality does it have based in fact? ZIPPO.

Firstly they may resent paying their taxes to agencies who squander that money in ways the electorate have stipulated many times they're not in agreement with but it gets spent frivolously regardless.

Secondly the much over used "protection" word to describe all of the more recent subornation of freedoms and rights which only serve to prove you are not able to protect yourselves without requiring complete subserviance and compliance to a security apparatus second to none in the rest of the world. Would that be the environment you intend to use "protection" as a descriptor.

Perhaps some of these folk are simply fed up with taxation going to provide nothing in the way of advanced cultural improvements but instead being used to fund a military complex that cannot provide security for embassies, your citizens abroad OR, more importantly, your domestic evironment as witnessed by the Boston and Fort Hood debacles among many others.

Many people are probably taking pause to think about where all those taxes are going. When they are forced to consider everything that has happened recently from the enactment of the ACA, they are "forced" to complyy with but their ruling class are not, to drones being allowed to fly overhead, to NSA data mining on the basis of a crappy piece of legislation called the Patriot Act abrogating individual rights, perhaps, just perhaps they've decided. NO MORE.

Why blame them when the majority of you simply revert to petty squabbles over one party vs the other party in a never ending litany of failure to provide citizen oversight to your phony "Royals" in DC.

You rebelled to create a country where this chit COULDN'T be repeated. Helllllooooooo! The lights might be on but, is there anybody at home down there?
