Well No all us Presidents have to American born and well the reason that exists is because the founding fathers of the United states feared that Canada well at the time we were British North America and that would get in loyalist to run and offer up support by secretly helping get a Candidate to Run to then Regain the 13 colonies under the control of the British commonwealth.
1) There is no historical evidence to support this claim. No such fear has ever been found anywhere in the writing of the Framers and Founders, or in the debates of the Constitutional Convention.
2) The actual "fear" represented by the NBC clause was the effort by pro-monarchists among the Framers (led by Alexander Hamilton) to recruit a European prince (specifically Prince Henry of Prussia) to be King of the new nation. The common law understanding of natural-born citizenship at the time precluded children of foreign royalty.
3) The Framers clearly did not believe that you had to be native born to be natural born, since the first Congress (consisting overwhelmingly of Framers) explicitly said otherwise. In the Naturalization act of 1790 they asserted that "the children of citizens of the United States that may be born beyond Sea, or out of the limits of the United States, shall be considered as natural born Citizens: Provided, that the right of citizenship shall not descend to persons whose fathers have never been resident in the United States."
His dad did not know Castro was a communist? he either has to be ignorant or smoking some good s***
I'd be interested in what you have to say about liberals who wear Che' t-shirts.
Cruz was born to an American citizen who had lived the requisite number of years in the U.S. before moving to Canada. He is recognized as qualified to be elected and sworn as President of the U.S. The origin of the father in this case is incidental.
Sometimes a little research - you know - for personal educational purposes can go a long way to covering ignorance.
McCain was born in Panama on a US military base so he was in fact born on American soil with 2 American parents,
I'm not sure what Ted Cruz's rights are, as he was born in Canada and spent his first 4 years in Calgary,His Mom was indeed an American but his father was a pro Castro Cuban who now claims he didnt know Castro was a communist...
If on the remote possibility he does become President we will probably witness a second incarnation of the birthers.
He was born off-base, and has remained that way to this day.
He was never naturalized. He was a citizen at birth through his mother.
so you saying he didnt go through the natralization process?
1) His mother had to fill out some form to have him acknowledged as her son. He had a Candian BC. How was the world going to know he was an American? You just cant go throuh life telling everyone...My mommy is American.
2) if upon returning to the US, His father was naturalized prior to Ted 18th birthdate...Even in this case, Ted would have had to have a green card while his father naturalized.

We have so many opinions on what constitutes a bona-fide American that Heintz is going to be consulted to add the 58th.
He was born in Canada which made him Canadian but he was born of an American parent which automatically gives him dual status? Perhaps, maybe?
