About 85% of 34,000 McDonanlds are franchises. The corporation makes most of its income from rent and royalty fees, not burgers and fries. Restaurant workers are typically employed by a franchiser, not Mc Donands.

The restaurant business has never been known for full time employment except at the management level. It's typically 4 hour shift work.
