There are many scholarships some with farmers and machinists, you just need to know where to look. I've looked at some however as a white male, there weren't many I had an opportunity to qualify for. I actually mentioned this to my ex who is African-American. She actually agreed with me after talking about the topic. Why, because not every middle class white male student has the resources to college, the same as any minority yet the minorities get the leg-up.
Seeing how the vast majority of scholarships are funded, or at least started, by the people they seek to benefit... are you sure you want to blame minorities for caring about other minorities? I feel like there's a more specific group you can target for White Males not having enough scholarships...
It's a slippery slope ... changing the conditions established for scholarships. What about scholarships intended for farmers, for machinists, for people with red hair or for Swedes?
If it's private money...they can give it to monkeys if they wish.
I don't have a problem with this. But if they are forced to change it, then lets change every scholarship based on race, sex, creed, physical disability, sexual orientation et al.
Good points Dockside;
if they change it, for white's so should it be for other races, sex, creed physicial disability, and sexual orientation.
Equality for one and all makes it fair. I don't have a problem with this either, if they are not just signaling out one group over another.

Yep, it's time to stop riding the "I'm black" gravy train and stop complaining. Not every middle class white male has college resources. I am not racist but Damn! I am sick of hearing people complaining about everything. Do like the rest of us and stop whining and find a way.
Columbia can either return the gift to the heirs or abide by its terms. There are numerous private scholarships that are ethnic specific. I wonder what the woman's motivation was considering at the time there weren't many non-Whites in Iowa and certainly not many going to college from there.

Do it for clubs as well. At my university there was a "club" for every ethnicity and variation under the sun outside of white straights. Gays, blacks, Natives, Latinos, Asians, you name it, they had it.

Already have scholarships for farmers.
