The Cincinnati office is the office responsible for investigating applications for tax-exempt status. The other IRS offices had nothing to do with said investigations. And the only "involvement" of other IRS offices is that some conservative organizations and individuals have complained of treatment by these offices. Their complaints don't mean that they were wrongfully targeted, audited or penalized. Until an investigation of their complaints is completed, we won't know. So the assertion that other offices were involved is unproven and therefore invalid.

The Daily Caller itself acknowledges that it's proof that Shulman visited the White House more than other cabinet members is tenuous at best. Cabinet members often don't sign in, often don't even use the visitor's entrance. While Fox News happily seized on the Daily Caller's report of the visitors log, they failed to report what even the Daily Caller acknowledged, that the records of cabinet members visits is not reliable in any form, shape, or otherwise. Therefore, invalid.

The IRS provides copies of applications in accordance to the Freedom of Information Act. When applications are still being investigated, they aren't supposed to be released. In a large release, some applications still being investigated were included in records properly being released. There is no basis for the assertion that these records were released to deliberately compromise these organizations, since none of the organizations was actually compromised. Therefore, a mischaracterization and invalid.

If Ms Lerner met with President Obama in a closed door session, then since neither has informed us what was discussed, any assertions about what they discussed is purely speculative, not conclusive. Offering up conclusions about their meetings, with not basis, would be invalid.

That's why these things are TALKING POINTS. Because they make conclusions, without any foundation, but they promote one side's version of things. Having actually read the Inspector General's report on the IRS's behavior in this matter, these "conclusions" border on hysteria and farce. The Inspector General's investigation was thorough and in depth. He certainly didn't determine that the IRS was innocent of wrong-doing. He concluded that they were in the wrong. He also concluded that no one from outside the IRS colluded in the partisan profiling that happened. I understand that the GOP would like another investigation. But witch-hunting is just as bad as profiling. A truly unbiased investigation requires that the investigators go in without any conclusions in mind. That doesn't seem to be what the GOP wants.
O so true. Talking Points are someone trying to sell somebody something, plain and simple.Just because the GOP and the Tea Party puts it in print does not make it true

Which is why it's good that this is now a national story being covered by everyone.

IRS Ignores Senate Deadline To Answer Questions About Scandal

Can you say 'guilty as hell'! There needs to be a large number of people spending time in jail...and a lot of people going to prison.

Really? Maybe they're not being fulfilled because they got put in the wrong file because of the title of those documents.

That would be typical of government to FUBAR the paperwork and the people who worship government to be sitting and waiting patiently for their God (who obviously can't spell) to answer their prayers.
