Your tag says you're from California, so what does Florida have to do with you?
States rights means allowing other states to do what they want.
First off, that'll never happen in Florida. Secondly, its no ones business except Florida's. Lastly, sounds to me like this isn't a ban of any kind. A ban would indicate prohibition. As long as you can buy it, its not a ban.
its the 2013 equivelant of a poll tax.
Colorado in their frenzy to destroy the Constitution, was trying to come up w/a fee to be passed on to the gun buyer for the background check.
no fee = no gun.
= poll tax.
poll tax was determined to be a burdon on poor people.
poll tax = racist.
racism = democrats best friend.
A poll tax is a tax to vote. We've been charging taxes and fees to own and operate things forever.
It seems many politicians are jumping on the bandwagon by coming up with all kinds of things in an effort to make themselves look good. While some have honest intentions, I think some are just trying to earn brownie points by whatever looks like the flavor of the month.
To buy ammo you must take anger management classes. This is just plain silly
"The bill filed Saturday by state Sen. Audrey Gibson, D-Jacksonville, would require a three-day waiting period for the sale of any firearm and the sale of ammunition to anyone who has not completed anger management courses. The proposal would require ammo buyers to take the anger management courses every 10 years."
How do we elect people like this?
1. What gun bans?
2. This is just a whacky bill that's been introduced. Happens all the time. It means nothing unless it's voted into law and it's a long way from that.
Those laws will vary by state, here in PA a concealed carry permit is issued by the Sheriff. There are no requirements except you be 21 and can legally own a firearm. These are usually issued immediately after the background check at least in my County.
A lot of people get these just to avoid the issues of transporting a weapon in a vehicle. If you don't have a concealed permit it has to be unloaded, bullets inaccessible etc.
Then you example doesnt meet my question criteria. If it isnt required, than it isn't mandated. Voluntary or not required isn't mandated.

Your car registration ring a bell?
You have a right to vote... The language in the Constitution for weapons, is even stronger. You have the right to bear arms(doesn't mean only a gun) and that cannot be infringed.
Driving a car, is a privilege granted to you by the kings.
There is nothing in the Constitution granting you the right to drive a car. It does give you the right to travel.

Ugh, again. The supreme court, those that have the legal right to interpret the constitution disagree with you on your view of the second amendment.
But the person was talking about a fee to buy bullets and how that's totally unreasonable, I'm simply showing that the government has made restrictions on many things that you have to register and okay taxes on in order to buy or use.
I ended your argument in your "all gun laws are unconstitutional" thread, do we have to rehash all the evidence again?
Gun laws, gun restrictions, and limitations are constitutional.
Gun laws, gun restrictions, and limitations are constitutional.
Yup, despite all the huffing and puffing from the regressive radical right. They seem to enjoy being proven wrong time after time as long as they can still exist in their own self-isolated reality bubbles.

Gee, I wonder what the founding fathers had against cars?

George Washington hated cars as a symbol of the British monarchy, but nicknamed his fully automatic machine gun his "Cherry Tree Chopper."
