My household got the stupid Census form last month. It has been sitting on our living room table since with no intention of filling it out. Our response is mandatory or so they claim. We are moving out of our apt in two weeks and to another state in May. So if some stupid Census worker comes by, sorry no one home. Why should we fill out a form that we wont be able to see the benefits of because we'll be somewhere else?

Please tell me, how can a country that can't control our borders, that can't figure out how to win in Iraq or Afghanistan, that can't figure out how to gain oil independence is going to police whether people fill out 10 stupid questions on a piece of paper?

What does one have to do with the other?

There are several topics already started.
Start with this one: https://www.city-data.com/forum/polit...ensus-get.html

I hope you don't fill it out because when new political lines are drawn, you'll lose.
See, it becomes a win/win situation for me: You don't get political credit and I do.

the Census is not neccessary. the FED will fund the states regardless. the Census is just to get a head count for population control measures.

We never get 100% of people responding to the census, unfortunately response rates are closer to 70%. This is unfortunate as it negatively affects the representative nature of Congress and has a negative impact on some government expenditure allocation. What's more, it's particularly problematic because there is a systemic bias regarding those who don't respond; certain populations (namely the homeless and the poor) are less likely to respond and therefore are underrepresented.

"cue the twilight zone music"...paranoid much? It's called getting accurate numbers for congressional representation. And then, those people who kept looking over their shoulders convinced the boogeyman was out to get them & refused to fill out the simplest of forms, the census data form, are the first ones to cry foul regarding anything about congress. It's kind of like voting: it's your own fault if you sit on your fat butt & do nothing.
