I don't know when some of you are going to come around to realize that this president is not a progressive, but you need to figure it out soon. This is repugnant. It's a measure of how stupid the conservative base has become that it can be sold a bill of goods that this man is some sort of left-winger. Where are the rest of you on the left speaking out against this garbage?

and of course we are all supposed to take this article at face value, based on nothing and appearing in the H Post?

Afghan "children" have also carried out attacks on U.S. forces. If they take up arms, then they're not "innocent" are they?

After their nation was invaded. So is it OK for your kids to take up arms and fight back against someone that invades your country? Or is it OK for them to be imprisoned?

Dana Rohrabacher takes it even a step further and would argue that the people of Iraq and Afghanistan should pay the United States for the costs of invasion and occupation. Then throw the children in prison for daring to fight back against the invaders.

Deadly insider attack that left 3 U.S. Marines dead was work of an Afghan teenager - Washington Post
I love how you put "children" in quotation marks. Since 12-16 apparently do not qualify as "children" in your world, would you care to delineate when childhood ends and adulthood begins? Mind you, I have a problem with throwing adults into our Hanoi Hilton without some form of due process, but I'll play along for argument's sake.

these kids have been detained because they are violent. We imprison kids here in the US at those ages and rightly so. If you pose a threat to society your age becomes irrelevant.

These children do not pose a threat to their societies, they pose a threat to occupying soldiers.

Your correction is duly noted.
