OMG! They walk amongst us....and they're allowed to vote...
The righties just want to bomb them anyway, they'd love to give the DoS budget to the military, ya can never have enough $500M fighters, just don't talk about anything for the average working guy.
First a fighter is much different then a bomber. Different aircraft, capabilities, and uses.
Second - no one wants to bomb anything - the point of having bombs and the means to deliver them is so we won't have to use them - the threat is supposed to be enough to ensure our security. The same principle applies to our fighter squadrons. You always negotiate from a position of strength. We need to be able to project our military power in the interest of our national security.
Third - shouldn't the "average working guy" be working instead of asking for handouts from the government?
Since he'd probably combine State & Commerce, in order to make the sale and off-shoring of America more efficient, I'd say one of his minions from Bain.
"It's three departments when I take office - education, commerce, and .... oops".

Would you please explain what constitutes a "handout" and what does not? For instance, does a government employee in the military getting paid to sit on his behind in Germany keeping an eye on the Russkies constitute a "handout" from taxpayers? What about a Medicare or SS recipient who years ago surpassed the amount he ever paid in to the system? Is that a "handout?"
Barack Obama - with the drone attacks (2009-2012) and Bill Clinton - bombing of Iraq in 1998?
Terrible, isn't it? It sickens me. It's why my vote went to a third-party candidate this year. Don't murder women and children in my name with these remote control killing machines. No sir.
Also sickening is the deafening silence from my fellow progressives when an American president authorized the assassination of an American citizen. Dubya never would have been allowed to get away with this. The GOP let us all down by not scrutinizing this further.

No - and you clearly have a very myopic view of our mission in Europe - and a poor understanding of the average American soldier's job in Germany or elsewhere. Educate yourself and then get back to me.

Yes. Both Social Security and Medicare need to be reformed. People should be able to opt out of both and place their money into private healthcare and retirement investments without having their money confiscated and redistributed by the government. Payouts should be proportional to what is put in. Right now a small minority pays for a vast majority - that isn't right - or even fair.
I thought you liberals were a big proponent of fairness. I guess not.
