My wife came home with a powerball ticket and I asked her where would we put the money if we won and then after thinking about it I really don't know. With the financial sector in disarray where would be a safe place to dump say 100 million bucks? I guess I'd build a vault under the back yard and sit on it or fill it with coffee and cigarettes and whiskey.

I don't think I would touch the market right now myself. A big imlosion is coming I think. The fed seems to be pulling back from another QE which will cause a big correction I think. Gold or silver would be nice thing to invest in but those bubbles are ready to pop as folks have been taking the money the fed prints up and tossing it there. Now buying up bars of gold may be the way to go. Actual bars not a piece of paper. Maybe just fly over to Dubai and hit their ATM's............

Invest? Spend, spend, spend. I just mentioned the other day that I would approach a neighboring town, since I live in an unincorporated area, to see if they would be interested in a library if I helped them. The Powerball will be over $300 milion next drawing, so could be a decent library.

Spend spend spend is what has gotten the US in the trouble we are in. Save save save is what people should be doing.

I'd buy myself a few things first. Car, new laptop, etc. I'd give some to my mom and to my dad, and set up a trust for my sister and brothers for when they turn 21. I'd donate a ton of it to charities, then I'd put a lot in savings and then invest the rest in reliable, low-volatility funds.
