Prior to the recent 2% reduction every single employee/employer contributed about 15% of every payroll dollar to fund FDRcare. It's expected that Obamacare will be a larger program. Where is the payroll tax?

I believe that employees pay 6.5 and employers pay another 6.5. I could be wrong though.

There is no payroll tax for Obamacare.

The FDRcare rate was 6.2 x 2 and another 1.45% for Medicare, or about 15%. Obama lowered it last year by 2%.

The point is that everyone pays into SS. It's not perfect and screws the high-wage earner, but everyone pays.

You are wrong about FDR care too. We pay into it, and some of us get something back..... I don't see how you see what you pay into as any entitlement program.

I would be happy to see SS end completely and just be left alone to deal in old age any way I can. That would go for almost all taxes.... Only man kind is silly enough to base living and life on cash and taxes...

Not one other creature does this work of fools. But I want back what i put in, and I have been putting in since i was 14, and i want that with interest and no silly 1% either!
Not a history major. In a previous post, I said historians would disagree with a prior post. I posted the rankings by historians.

Social Security is not a retirement account. We pay for other people that are now on it. The original receivers never paid anything. The money you have put in is gone. That money was paid for people already on it, and if the Republicans don't mess it up, you will get paid by people who are working when you retire.

Thankyou, often times we must educate "the sound bite generation" More people would know the real truth if only they read beyond the headlines.

Even the most optimistic outlook acknowledges that Social Security is now paying out more dollars per year than it is taking in, and that the "Promised" payouts cannot be fully funded after about 2035. I will be just a few years into my eligibility in 2035. Should I not notice this shortfall right now, and just wait to complain about in in 2035?

Put a sock in it. You're gonna run down to the SS office and apply THE MINUTE you're eligible, and you're gonna go with a big ass smile on your face....happy and relieved that you lived long enough to collect.

If you try to refute anything I just said, then you're just lying. Flat out.

And you won't? And or go after the vets assitance programs either?

I sure will but probably not till I hit 65 and i will remain working still.

I am waking wounded now and not supposed to be doing the work I do, but if i stop, I will lock up so bad life would no longer be worth living. And these hot muggies are not helping a bit.

WHERE THE HELL IS COLD DRY WINTER?

Good lord! Personal attack much? Ever heard of the recession?

Actually, it's not that simple. If you call it "Obamacare", people say one thing. If you ask if they support certain parts of the act, they sometimes say something different.

I'd really like to see that fleshed out a bit.
