All I have to do is look at the Trayvon Martin threads and see the double standard at work. Had these kids not been white, I wouldn't be seeing all this compassion. And y'all damn well know I'm right.

A friend of mine spent a night in jail in 1982 for participating in a food fight in my college cafeteria.

Get a group of adults together and try something like this in a shopping mall food court and see what happens.

Are you taking nonsense pills?
One involves a shooting and the other a food fight
If there is a comparison, its that these students who engaged in a food fight were treated as though it were bullets they were slinging rather than jello.

The incident in our high school cafeteria on March 27th remains under investigation by the Monroe County Sheriff Department and we are cooperating fully with the police. We also have disciplined several high school students who were involved in the situation because we will not tolerate this type of behavior. This situation may have started with a food fight but the damage done to school property, and the potential for injury to innocent students as a result of the situation, has caused us to treat this more seriously than just some cafeteria horseplay. The safety and well-being of all of our students at Jefferson Schools is our top priority and we will do all we can to ensure that a safe, supportive learning environment is maintained at all times for all students. This is a student and school issue, and in respect to the individuals and families involved, we are not at liberty to discuss this issue in further detail.”

I'd make them clean it up, suspend their little azzes for 3 days, then it's all good. Jail, not so much. But, then, I don't live there, and I don't know what the LAWS are.

The Dept of Education has nothing to do with it.

Had they been black and disciplined in the same way, we would be seeing it on national news and Jesse and Al would be there organizing the masses and leading the charge, claiming, "We're tired of being treated by the law in a harsher manner than any white students would have been."
