What would you have done if some guy was following you in a threatening manner? Would you not defend yourself?
I support castle doctrine. I support your right, and my right, to defend myself against bodily harm.
But there is an obvious problem. If I'm being threatened by a big guy stalking me, and I feel threatened? If I have to confront the guy to get him to leave me alone, so be it. But "counter-threatening" the guy opens a can of worms.
I feel threatened and at fear of great bodily harm. I have the right to shoot this threat. Turning to confront this threat, he now is in fear of great bodily harm and now has a right to shoot me, the threat. It's a lose-lose situation.
Zimmerman's defiance of the 911 call is going to be his ultimate demise in this case. He intentionally pursued and confronted Trayvon, initiating the circumstances to begin with. I'd like to see Zimmerman put behind bars for his actions, but we'll have to wait for the trial.
I think this is the first time I've come across the term in a reputable news service. I wonder if from here on out we will have qualifiers to Hispanic.
You must not know very many Hispanics.
All the ones I know that hail from a European background refer to themselves in this way.
Quite common here in FL.
Gotta keep "white" in the equation....it's the only reason people are rallying across the nation. Take away the white, and the concept of "caring" and "justice for Trayvon" flies out the window. Lets us not forget that the "racism rush to judgement" is what galvanized people to begin with.
Your own article specifically states that the kids (not their families in the courtroom) cheered. Why did the article make that distinction if they all cheered? In fact, it said that others howled. That's usually a description that is associated with anger, outrage, etc. Again, you have no point with this story. Try another one.
You have to read further down. Just because the kids celebrated doesn't mean the adults did not. You can't be this dense.
Quote:
The courtroom was crowded with the families of the seven defendants. Detective Josh Wenstrom, who had interviewed the young witness, sat nearby in a small room reviewing his notes, preparing to testify. About the same time, far from the scene, the Knockout King posted on Facebook: "FREE ALL MY TKO GUYS."
At 9 a.m. the hearing began.
Minutes later it was over. The 13-year-old witness never showed. Wenstrom heard a roar in the hallway. It sounded like cheering. "I was almost sick to my stomach," he says.
You should of left the word Lopez out... this is how journalism operates..
