Go to Tea party rally in thus country. Gather up flags from the participants and build a pile in the center of the rally and set the pile on fire. See if you get out of there unscathed..... See if the organization you were a member of doesnt face harsh criticism, protest and maybe death threats.

Americans respect the American flag. They've died for it. It represents our country.

Choosing better would be nice. Too bad the current crop of options are abysmal, even by Republican standards.

Bad analogy. If your American community was relying on Afghan troops for keeping the peace - with or without your consent - and they burned an American flag, would you feel an apology was owed?
I don't mind going, florida. It's an honor to represent our nation, even in these circumstances. The overwhelming majority of those of us in uniform feel the same way. As an American representative over there, I plan on showing nothing but the utmost respect for the Afhgans I encounter who mean me no harm. I plan on doing my best to show them that Americans are honorable people of good faith and good will.

Here come the Muslim defenders as usual. Didn't take long for the "Christians are bad" defense to pop up. Also noticed some here justifying the murder committed by these animals because someone else's Quran was burned.

Well said, however, the mission statement in Afghanistan was corrupt from the beginning, and clearing up that mission statement means meeting Mohamed where he is as he is. Demanding they live up to our standard of free speech does not serve the mission objectives.
Fact: incendiary rhetoric & undisciplined officers only throws raw meat to sharks preying on our troops. Along with any other sleazy cult grandstanding in Florida with a preachers license burning a Koran. Obama was correct to revert back to diplomatic discipline. Palin can stand before the flag and defend it or she can shut her ridiculous mouth and hide behind it. Talking smack from the comfort of her armchair... time to send F-Troop to answer for themselves directly in Afghanistan. On that count, at least Hanoi Jane had a pair to put her own boots on the ground and account for herself 100%.
