Are the poor poor becuase the rich are rich?

No. The poor are poor for the most part because they don't work as much as others.

Reading most of these post, it is surprising that some of y'all don't just come on out with it.

The rich are rich because God loves them best.

I'll tell my granny who tended to 12 kids, cleaned the house, washed in tubs with a washboard, grew and canned everything thing her family consumed that it was all her fault that she died poor.

Smart hard work accounts for the rich, my a$$.

One has nothing to do with the other. Each individual got to where they are by their own choices and life circumstances.

I for one was very poor two separate times in my life. Once when I was a minor and had little to no control over my life circumstances and once as an adult with very small children. I am now heading up to the "rich" section of my life and I hope to retire there. LOL!

During times of economic duress wealth will always consolidate and seek flight to exchanges and vehicles that shelter wealth from the descending currency valuations. Once the economic condition is evident and settled into the depressed pattern, wealth re-emerges to take advantage of economic opportunity that exists in the current environment.

The percentage affected will be in direct correlation to the severity of the economic malaise.

But one things for sure. In a time of crises those who are well off are expected to do more not less.
Expected to do more of what?? And why are they the only ones expected to do more? Why aren't those who are in need expected to do more of whatever they can to get out of their situation?

So now its the fault of the rich that your granny chose to have 12 kids.. How do you figure that?

It depends on your definition of poor.

She sounds like she was a very honorable woman who knew what she had to do to make it.

One doesn't get dollar bonuses for doing the right thing for their family.

Hell, in todays world, you get dollar bonuses for NOT doing the right thing!

Exactly.

The left expect a "social contract" in which the only people who have no responsibility are the recipient class, where most of societies ills come from.
