No way! Parties have no meaning to me. I bet the next guy (or gal) will not be much different than Bush II or Obama.
Exactly. After the selected (as opposed to 'elected') POTUS takes office, the underlying agenda of the past 30 years or more will continue it's forward path. Perhaps with another false flag hoax or two thrown in to up the fear ante, they will keep us in line and get us begging them to continue to dismantle the Constitution.
Whenever a Democrat has been president in my lifetime, somehow it always feels like a distraction or aberration of some kind. That's been the case with Carter, Clinton and Obama. Somehow, those presidencies didn't feel "normal" or "right".
Do you think that when a Republican gets elected, then America will once again return to its core values?
If you're definition of normal is expanding military spending, keeping entitlements about the same, and decreasing taxes, then yeah, thats what I expect Republicans do to. Thats what they've done for the last three administrations at least, what would make you think that would change?

A sense of strength and direction in this country. Less economic uncertainty. And not trying to ram through things like universal health care, which goes against the core value of personal responsibility in America.
I'm not competely anti-Obama though. I think he did a fantastic job of killing OBL last year.

Wow Republicans are desperate. They had no problem with Bush in his jacket in front of a Mission Accomplished banner when actually, nothing at all had been accomplished. By their logic, Bush didn't attack Iraq, those soldiers were acting independently.
I think the answer has to be a resounding no. Our problems are systemic, way beyond what one prez can fix. Look at the housing bubble, the causes can be traced back to the 1990's and even before.
What I hope is that the next president can start to dial back the abuses of big gov't to a manageable level, like say where we were in the 1990's and prior. Only 10 years ago the debt was about $5.6 trillion, and we thought that was bad; now it's $15 trillion.
I think you're right. We need at least one more war......maybe two, to get things back to normal.
Against who?
