It works best if you pass the bill before writing it.

What would the economy be like today had this jobs bill been passed in 09? Isn't this a better jobs bill than the first stimulus? It puts more emphasis on infrastructure than the first stimulus. Most seem to agree that this greater emphasis on infrastructure repair will generate jobs.

There was no vote on the bill. Only a vote in the Senate, which failed.

Based on what? That the majority supported the jobs bill? We aren't a democracy: the majority does not rule in this country.

Is "what would have happened" the best justification you have for the stimulus?

Actually it needed 60% majority before it was even discussed, and since Dems do not have the 60%, it never had a chance. They didn't even discuss it.

Who wrote the bill? When did either house of Congress debate it at all? What is the proper method of writing and passing bills in Congress?

The thing about this one is the clip floating around that shows Obama talking to his Jobs Commission (not a government group) about going around Congress to get these things done. No matter how many people want the wealthy to support this kind of law the way it was written and ordered passed makes me wholly against it. The Man didn't want it debated and that was why Dirty Harry tried his trick the other day. If it was debated in Congress it would be torn apart so he couldn't allow any debate.

This whole damned thing is maybe the worst example of his imperial actions of the entire administration.

Oh it surely does go somewhere. It goes farther down the road of the complete destruction of the Congress and our Constitution.
