Although you already know this and are just being argumentative, no, that is not what I am advocating. Would you rather have 20% of $50,000 or 20% of $1,000,000? The percentage does not matter, the rich monetarily pay far more than the middle and lower class.
In dollars, they pay far more than the middle class does. Percentages are for obscuring the truth and pandering for votes. Actual tax revenue is what matters, not what percentage they pay.
So wrong - it's percentages. The same rate for all.
Why do you not want the rich to pay the same rate?
They're making their money off of your back.

This second post is not what you said in your first post.
What is it?
Millionaires unfairly benefited from Republican policies during the Bush years. Stands to reason that they should have the laboring oar of tackling the deficit. President Obama is absolutely correct. I personally think that the richest people in this country should be SOLELY responsible for tackling the deficit since it was the party that protects their interests (GOP) which created it, with the support of the wealthy.
The general rule is that if the GOP opposes something, IT is right for the country. Here, Obama is right, the GOP wrong. Country suffers when the hapless GOP gets their way as we have seen now 11 years running.

Not one living breathing CITIZEN should be penalized for the irresponsible acts of any ADMINISTRATION.
So tax rates don't matter? Is this the new Tea Party/GOP mantra? If a billionaire pays $17,000 in taxes do you want a minimum wage earner to pay $17,000 in taxes?
The reason they only pay 17K is all the loop holes they have in the code.. Eliminate the loop holes and they pay much more than the middle class.

How about the millionaires in Congress?
Check the letter (D) or (R) by their names.....

You opinion is NOT a general rule.
Offer up Maxine's, uh I mean O's bill line by line and argue each on how it's right. And leave out nothing.....especially ACORN funding, the un-needed bureaucracy created, etc.

Yet the middle and lower class were during the bushistas.
Didn't hear you complain then.
