If anyone actualy beleives its free, ( like anything is free) its actualy paid for by a tax on everyone elses cell phone bill.

No really? Personally I thought they were paid for by kids donating the money they got from the tooth fairy.....

With the numerous threads opened recently on cutting defense spending I thought it would be a good idea to remind people one of thousands of ludicrous programs the government wastes money on...

Oh, this thread again.

If providing phone services to those who can't purchase it at market terms is such an outrage, you really should direct your ire at the rural communities. Providing phone service to the Real Americans in sparsely populated areas is twice as costly as providing phone service to people with low income.

(Universal Service Fund, look it up.)
