Michelle Malkin » The new forbidden cartoons: Muslim Minnie and Mickey Mouse

Quote:
Naguib Sawiris has apologised for what he said was “joke” that was not meant to be taken seriously. The cartoons had been widely circulated already on the internet.

But 60,000 people have already signed up to Facebook pages condemning him, while 15 lawyers from the Salafi movement, a purist Islamic sect that has been rising in influence in Egypt in recent years, have petitioned the prosecutor general to take a case against him for insulting religion.

How is that insulting anything? Are ears, as among the Ferengi, sex objects?

There is a lot about the Islamic culture that puzzles me and their treatment of women is right at the top.

This outrage over Minnie Mouse is nothing. Just wait until someone claims that Donald Duck is ranting in Arabic when he goes into one of his frenzies...
